Cornita A. Riley is a 44 year veteran in the criminal justice field, specifically in the area of Corrections. She retired as Chief of Orange County Corrections in July 2018. Prior to her serving the citizens of Orange County, Ms. Riley served in numerous leadership roles with the Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC). Her last position with FDOC was Regional Assistant Warden. She is the founder and manager of Motivating People to Rise Higher Consulting Firm, which specializes in leadership development. She is also an adjunct instructor for Valencia College School of Public Safety. She is considered a subject matter expert in the field of Corrections. She is passionate about providing valuable leadership training and development for criminal justice professionals and particularly for women. She is a graduate of Florida State University and earned her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.
